Victim of serious crash passes away

Windsor police are reporting that a woman driver involved in a serious crash on Valentine's Day has passed away.

Police said she died on February 26 after a crash involving a silver Cadillac and a white Chrysler sedan at George Avenue and Reginald Street on February 14.

Police aren't releasing her name but BlackburnNews.com has learned it was 69-year-old Karen Kelly of Windsor.

An investigation has determined a 20-year-old man from Windsor, who was originally arrested on February 15  and charged with dangerous driving causing bodily harm and failing to remain at the scene of an accident causing bodily harm, was not the suspect driver and charges against him have been dropped.

The investigation continues.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Windsor police at 519-255-6700 ext. 4000, Crime Stoppers anonymously at 519-258-8477 (TIPS) or online at www.catchcrooks.com.
