The Windsor Spitfires suffered their fourth loss in a row in a crushing 11-4 defeat to the Guelph Storm on Friday.
The Storm scored three back-to-back goals in the first 12 minutes of the game to take a commanding lead before Windsor made it on the board, with Tyler Angle scoring with just under 40 seconds left in the first period.
Guelph added another four goals in the second to take a 7-1 lead, and they were also able to keep the Spitfires from scoring throughout the period.
Nathan Staios opened the third period for Windsor by scoring early in the frame, but the Storm answered with a goal of their own just over a minute later. The Spitfires scored their third goal of the night, courtesy of Curtis Douglas 7:31 into the final period, but the Storm wouldn't let up and scored two more to make it 10-3. Dylan Robinson scored the final goal of the game for Windsor with just over two minutes left to play, and again the Storm responded in kind by following up with one more goal before the buzzer.
The Storm also outshot the Spitfires 46-31.
The Spitfires will look to snap their losing streak on Sunday when they take on the Kingston Frontenacs. The puck drops at 2:05 p.m. in Kingston.
