A 56-year-old Windsor man has been arrested in connection with a child pornography investigation.
The Windsor police Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) began an investigation in January involving the possession and distribution of child pornography, according to Sergeant Steve Betteridge. The investigation lasted for several weeks, during which time police obtained authorization to search a property that was connected to the probe.
Officers went to the residence in question around 11 a.m. Wednesday to put the warrant in place and eventually identify a suspect. A number of computer and data storage devices were seized. Police allege image of the sexual abuse of children were was discovered within those items.
The suspect, identified as Steven Brydges, was arrested around 3 p.m. Wednesday on Wyandotte Street East near the Ford Powerhouse. He has been charged with two counts of possession of child pornography, accessing child pornography, and making available child pornography.
These charges have not been proven in court. Police believe no local children were involved in the offences.
