The Essex Region Conservation Authority (ERCA) is now advising that there's a good chance of flooding until Friday morning.
ERCA said it is due to rain and the runoff from the melting snow, and the saturated soil.
Officials added that main waterways and drains may have some blockages that have the potential to impact drainage and could create flooding in low lying areas, catch basins, and other drains in both rural and urban environments.
ERCA said people should avoid rivers, lakes, ditches, streams, and ponds. Officials also remind the public that any remaining ice cover on the waterways will be unstable and dangerous.
