Suspect caught red-handed in Windsor break-and-enter

A Windsor man is facing numerous charges following a break and enter at a downtown business.

Windsor police said they received a call around 4 a.m. Friday about a break-and-enter in progress at the establishment, located on University Avenue East near the casino. Constable Talya Natyshak said when officers arrived, it was determined that a man had used a device to break into a storage room.

Officers were able to obtain a key to the storage room and enter, finding a man, who was arrested without incident. The man was searched and police seized assorted tools and a prohibited knife.

A 40-year-old Windsor man is now charged with break-and-enter, possession of a break-and-enter instrument, five counts of possession of a prohibited weapon, and two counts of breach of probation. These charges have not been proven in court.
