Charges after man pepper-sprayed in Tecumseh break-in

The Ontario Provincial Police have charged a suspect after a man was sprayed in the face with what appeared to be pepper-spray last month.

It happened early the morning of December 27 at an apartment building on Shawnee Road near Tecumseh Road.

A man and his son were asleep when a group of suspects entered their apartment.

There was a confrontation between the man and the suspects, and that is when the resident was sprayed.

The OPP said they have charged 22-year-old Da Shaun Reid of Windsor with break and enter, using a disguise while committing an offence, two counts of assault with a weapon, possessing a firearm, and using a firearm while committing an offence.

Reid was arrested on January 8 and remains in custody.

Police are still looking for other suspects and ask anyone with information to call 1-888-310-1122, Crime Stoppers at 519-800-222-8477, or leave a tip online at www.catchcrooks.com.
