Police are looking for suspects after two Windsor convenience stores were robbed on the same day by a woman carrying a golden gun.
The Windsor Police Service said on Thursday at around 9:45 a.m., a woman entered a convenience store on Tecumseh Road West near Everts Avenue carrying a suspected "gold coloured firearm". The woman demanded and received a quantity of money and merchandise, which she concealed in a grey plastic bag.
The woman was last seen running away from the business heading east.
The suspect in the first robbery is described as a white female around 30-40 years old, 5'7" tall with a medium build. At the time of the robbery, she was wearing a dark coloured coat with a hood pulled up, black tights, red running shoes with white trim soles and purple gloves.
The second robbery took place later Thursday night at around 10 p.m. when a woman, who was carrying a suspected "gold coloured firearm" and a plastic bag, walked into a convenience store on California Avenue near Girardot Avenue. The woman demanded cash and attempted to reach over the counter into the cash register. However, she took off when confronted by a second employee.
She was last seen running north before entering the passenger seat of a dark burgundy, four-door Mazda SUV-CX7 that is possibly a 2007 or 2008 model.
The suspect in this robbery is described as a white female, with a short, medium build. She was last seen wearing a long black jacket with a hood, dark tight pants, black shoes with pink laces, blue and white striped gloves, and a black scarf covering the lower half of her face
There were no injuries reported as a result of either robbery and the Windsor police Forensic Identification Branch has conducted investigations at both scenes. Both robberies are now being investigated by the Major Crimes Branch.
Anyone with information about the suspects in this incident is advised not to approach them as they are considered to be armed and dangerous.
