Don't leave parked vehicles running and unattended say police

Windsor police are reminding the public not to leave vehicles running and unattended with keys in the ignition after a man entered a parked vehicle with a child in the back.

Investigators said a suspicious male approached the vehicle on Ouellette Avenue near Eugenie Street on Wednesday afternoon and sat in the front passenger seat. An adult sitting in the back seat with a child yelled at the man, who then left the scene in a black pickup truck.

The male is described as white, 30-35 years old with brown hair and wearing jeans, a grey sweater, brown short boots, and a distinctive dark coloured rounded flat cap with a small stiff brim.

The investigation continues and police have identified a suspect.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Windsor Police Service at 519-255-6700 ext. 4350, Crime Stoppers anonymously at 519-258-8477 (TIPS) or online at www.catchcrooks.com.
