Ouellette Avenue to reopen after almost two years of construction

The City of Windsor is reporting that the Ouellette Avenue streetscape project is almost complete after 15 months of upgrades.

The city said the stretch of road from Wyandotte Street to Elliott Street will be fully open to traffic after midnight on Friday. Transit Windsor will also resume their regular bus routes on Ouellette Avenue on Friday following the opening.

The $6.7 million improvements include new, wider sidewalks and road repaving. The road is down to one lane of traffic each way with on-street parking, new street and pedestrian lighting, bigger patios, and new planters.
