Windsor-Essex residents with grievances that ranged from the rollout of legal recreational pot to Canada's immigration laws are protesting the prime minister's visit.
The group gathered around 9 a.m. Friday morning where the E.C. Row Expressway meets with Highway 401 in West Windsor, not far from where Justin Trudeau gave a speech at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Gordie Howe International Bridge.
The rally was organized by Sabrina Ulch, a breast cancer survivor who uses medical marijuana oil who fears public officials have not had enough training to differentiate between cannabis used for health reasons and recreational pot.
"I take for my symptoms oil for my cancer. I have THC in my system. It's in my saliva. I'm not impaired. I can drive," she said.
She was joined at the demonstration included retired police officers who feel rules prohibiting Windsor police officers from using marijuana off-duty are unfair.
Others are concerned about the release of Tori Stafford killer Terri-Lynn McClintic to an Aboriginal healing lodge.
