Windsor man arrested on downtown roof

A 37-year-old Windsor man is facing mischief and theft charges after two air conditioning units were pushed off a downtown Windsor roof.

Police said a suspect was arrested on a roof on Ouellette Avenue and University Avenue on Tuesday just before 8 a.m. The air conditioning units were destroyed with multiple copper lines ripped out and loose wires hanging from the roof. Loose pieces of copper tubing were also found in the alley.

Police allege the suspect was attempting to steal copper wires.

His name has not been released.
