Walkerville shooting victim dies

Windsor police have confirmed that an 18-year-old who was shot on the weekend in Walkerville has died and that the case is now a homicide.

Police said Darrion Moffatt of Windsor succumbed to his gunshot injuries Monday afternoon. Officers were dispatched to a home on Hall Avenue between Assumption Street and Riverside Drive on Saturday at approximately 1:35 a.m. for a report of an injured person.

A 19-year-old man remains in police custody after he was arrested Saturday afternoon in connection with the shooting. The investigation continues. An autopsy is scheduled to assist with the investigation.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help pay for Moffat's funeral costs.
