Former Windsor union boss passes away

The City of Windsor is lowering its flags in honour of Frank LaSorda.

Mayor Drew Dilkens has asked that flags at City of Windsor facilities be lowered to half-staff in respect and recognition of the passing of the former president of UAW Local 444, which became CAW Local 444.

Unifor Local 444 said it is saddened by the passing of its former president and extend its deepest condolences to the Lasorda family.

LaSorda started his automotive career at the Ford Motor Company in Windsor but spent the majority of his years with Chrysler at the Windsor Assembly Plant, where he started working in 1952. He retired in 1982.
