No swimming recommended at three local beaches this week

Swimming is not recommended at three local beaches this week.

The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit says Sandpoint Beach, West Belle River Beach, and Mettawas Beach have unacceptable levels of bacteria.

The health unit says the beaches will remain open this week, and while the bacteria levels are not considered unsafe, swimming may pose a risk to public health.

Swimming was not recommended at West Belle River Beach and Seacliff Beach last week.
