Clock ticking on man accused of murdering Windsor mom

The man accused of murdering a 31-year-old Windsor mother is being extradited back to Canada to face his charges in a Windsor court.

Jitesh Bhogal, a Canadian citizen who was residing in Michigan, has waived his right to an extradition hearing.

Windsor Police Chief Al Fredrick said bypassing the hearing will speed things up, but getting Bhogal back to Windsor could still take some time because extraditions don't happen every day.

Bhogal was arrested in Washington State on August 17. The 27-year-old has been charged with first-degree murder, aggravated sexual assault and break and enter in connection with the death of Autumn Taggart.

Taggart was found murdered on June 10 inside her apartment at University Avenue and McKay Avenue. Investigators believe that her 9-year-old son was inside the unit when the homicide occurred.

The murder case remains under investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Windsor Police Service at 519-255-6700 ext. 4830, Crime Stoppers at 519-258-8477 (TIPS), or www.catchcrooks.com.
