Next Section Of Riverside Dr. To Close Soon

Just as drivers may have been getting used to Riverside Dr. E being open again between Riverdale and Lauzon Rd., there is a new closure on the horizon.

Originally, the city said the stretch would be closed for the rest of the year, but it reopened last week.

There are still lane restrictions on Riverside Dr. in that section.

City of Windsor Senior Engineer Anna Godo says the work is not finished there.

"The contractor is going to continue with work on Monday with some trenchless sewer repairs," she says. "September 4 they're going to continue with water main work. They'll be working in the Dieppe to Solidarity Tower section."

Traffic will be detoured around the closure.

Godo says along with the water main work that is underway, new sidewalks will be installed, and the road will be reconstructed.

"Once they complete that work they're going to continue with Lauzon to Dieppe," says Godo.

The work is part of the Riverside Drive Vista Project.

The new closure, from Dieppe St. to Solidarity Towers is expected to last until the end of the year.
