OPP Sends Message To Aggressive Young Racers

A 19-year-old Windsor man has been charged with racing a motor vehicle by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in Essex County.

Police say on Tuesday, a vehicle was stopped on Essex Concession 4 travelling at more than 80 km/hr over the 60 km/hr speed limit.

His driver's licence has been seized and the vehicle impounded for seven days.

Two more men were caught stunt driving locally last week and charged.

A 24-year-old from Windsor was clocked at 130 km/hr in the 80 km/hr construction zone on Hwy. 401 near Bloomfield Rd. in Chatham.

A 22-year-old from Toronto is also charged with racing a motor vehicle after he was caught blowing by an OPP cruiser on Hwy. 401 near the Belle River Rd. exit in Lakeshore at more than 190 km/hr.
