The annual Ed Jovanovski Charity Golf Classic was a huge success.
The tournament was held July 20 at Pointe West Golf Club and raised $50,000 to fight breast cancer.
Jovanovski, a former NHL star, was inspired to donate the funds to breast cancer research because of the effect breast cancer has had on his mother. Ed’s mother, who is now a breast cancer survivor, also inspired him to create this fundraiser to help others affected by breast cancer.
“It’s efforts like this that help in the fight against breast cancer and a true embodiment of ‘cancer changes everything, so can you’ ” says Cindy Vinall, senior manager of the Canadian Cancer Society.
