Police Looking For Suspect In Attempted Abduction

Police are looking for a suspect after a man broke into an apartment in the Forest Glade area of Windsor and tried to get a 7-year-old boy to leave with him.

That was around 8:30am Friday on Sycamore Dr. between Meadowbrook Ln. and Hawthorne Dr.

The boy's mother was in another room and heard her son having a conversation with someone. There was no one else home at the time.

When she looked out to see whom he was talking to, she saw the boy talking with a man who was standing by the front door.

She confronted him and after a short conversation escorted him out of her home.

Police were called, and during the course of their investigation, they discovered the man had broken into the apartment through a window.

The suspect is a white man between 30 and 35-years-old with a stocky upper body and skinny legs. His hair was unkempt and brown. He was wearing black and white shorts, but no shirt or shoes.

The Major Crimes Branch conducted an extensive search of the area, and one resident told them he saw a man who matched the suspect's description walking his dog in the neighbourhood a few days ago.

Anyone with information should call the Windsor Police Service at 519-255-6700 ext 4830 or Crime Stoppers at 519-258-8477. Online, tips can be submitted to www.catchcrooks.com.
