Amherstburg Man Accused Of Killing Another Walks Free

An Amherstburg man accused of striking down and killing another man with his car has been found not guilty.

On Monday, 24-year-old Brandin Crosier was found not guilty of criminal negligence causing the death of 31-year-old Adam Pouget, also of Amherstburg.

Pouget was killed November 17, 2016, when Crosier's car tried to pass another vehicle on a foggy County Rd. 18 in Amherstburg.

Pouget was skateboarding to work between Concession 4 and Meloche Rd. at 6:40am.

He leaves behind his wife, Ashley Dupuis, and four young children.

Lawyer Greg Monforton, who is representing the Pouget family, says Justice Sharman Bondy ruled there was insufficient evidence to convict Crosier of criminal negligence causing death or reckless and dangerous driving.

Monforton says the matter will now be pursued in civil court because Crosier still has a responsibility to the Pouget family.
