Windsor, U of W Police Make Arrest

Officers from the Windsor Police Service and the University of Windsor Campus Police helped bring in a break-and-enter suspect.

Windsor police say they received a call shortly after 3:30am Thursday about a break-and-enter in progress on Patricia Rd. near University Ave. W.

They were met by officers from the U of W police service, who told them that an alarm had been tripped, meaning that someone had entered a building on campus. The campus officers observed two people in the building, one who fled and the other who was believed to still be inside.

Windsor officers searched the building and spotted a suspect running from the area across Huron Church Rd. A suspect was placed under arrest.

A 34-year-old Windsor man is charged with break-and-enter.

A second suspect, who fled from the scene, is described as being male, in his mid-20s, with short hair. He was wearing a long, black t-shirt and was last seen running westbound along University Ave. W.

Anyone with information on this incident should call Windsor police at (519) 255-6700, ext. 4350, or Crime Stoppers at (519) 258-TIPS (8477).
