Four family members have been taken to hospital to be assessed after a gas leak in Tecumseh.
The Tecumseh fire department says it happened at a home on Michael Dr. between Little River Blvd. and St. Thomas St. around 8 a.m. Tuesday.
Crews arrived to high levels of natural gas in the home.
Michael Dr. was closed for about two hours for repairs.
The gas leak was caused by the improper installation of a natural gas hook-up for a barbeque. Natural gas then leaked into the house throughout the night.
Tecumseh Fire Prevention Officer Bob Hamilton said he understands that it costs more, but he urges residents to hire a licenced professional when dealing with gas.
