Improving Patient Care At WRH

Windsor Regional Hospital is standardizing practices across both its campuses to improve patient outcomes.

Since the two campuses came under the same umbrella staff have been working on standardized nursing practices, patient forms, and procedures.

"We are designing and creating care delivery, primarily by nursing so that its the same on every unit, every shift, every campus," says Chief Operating Officer Karen McCullough.

She says they have seen positive outcomes and great feedback from patients. Some of the practices have reduced patient transfer times, patient falls, and miscommunication errors.

McCullough says these practices will be carried over to the new acute care facility in the future.
