More Damaging Wind Possible Tonight

The Essex Region Conservation Authority says there's a possibility of more damaging wave conditions in Leamington Wednesday night.

Forecasts predict winds out of the east/northeast with sustained speeds of 20-25 km/hr. While this is under the "flood watch" threshold the authority says because many shore protection structures were damaged over the weekend they are more vulnerable to further damage.

Officials say there is the possibility of further shore erosion along Lake Erie, particularly between the Wheatley Harbour and Point Pelee.

The authority says people should take extra caution and avoid shoreline areas.

Officials will continue to monitor the forecasts and provide updates if required. This flood outlook remains in effect until Thursday morning.
