Unionized workers at four local auto parts suppliers, which provide inventory to the Windsor Assembly Plant, are set to vote on newly reached tentative contracts.
Ratification votes for workers at Avancez Assembly, HBPO Canada, Dakkota Integrated Systems and Z-F Friedrichshafen will take place throughout the day Thursday at the Unifor Local 444 Hall in Windsor, according to a post on the union's official Facebook page.
The union reached tentative deals with auto part suppliers Dakkota Integrated Systems and HBPO Canada shortly before 2am Monday morning. Employees from both suppliers walked off the job when their contracts expired midnight Saturday, and they spent Sunday on the picket lines.
Deals were reached with Avancez Assembly Saturday night and with Z-F Friedrichshafen late Sunday, about an hour before the latter company's strike deadline.
Terms of the agreements are not being disclosed, but Local 444 President James Stewart told BlackburnNewsWindsor.com on Saturday that with the first deal being with Avancez, he expected the others to follow that agreement's framework.
The voting schedule is as follows:
- ZF-TRW - 8am to 9am
- Avancez - 9:30am to 10:30am
- Dakkota - 11am to 12pm
- HBPO - 12:30pm to 1:30pm
- HBPO - 3:30pm to 4:30pm
- Dakkota - 5pm to 6pm
- Avancez - 6:30pm to 7:30pm
- ZF-TRW - 8pm to 9pm
