Tentative agreements have been reached at four auto parts suppliers in Windsor.
At 11pm Sunday, Unifor Local 444 announced that they had reached a tentative agreement with supplier ZF Friedrichshafen, whose current collective bargaining agreement was to expire at midnight.
According to the union local's official Facebook page, ZF has agreed to the contract framework reached with Avencez Assembly, which averted a walkoff Saturday.
The announced deal is the second of the four auto suppliers affected in these negotiations. Each voted overwhelmingly for strike action last month.
Unifor Local 444 reached a tentative deal with HBPO Canada Inc. and Dakkota Integrated Systems after those workers walked off the job early Sunday morning. Workers from both firms spent most of Sunday walking the picket line.
Union local president James Stewart could not be reached for comment Sunday but he told BlackburnNewsWindsor.com on Saturday that a strike could potentially cripple production at the Windsor Assembly Plant.
