Lakeshore Fire Chief Don Williamson says it is still under investigation, but the suspected cause of a house fire near Stoney Point is electrical.
Around 1:30am Wednesday, a man living alone woke up after hearing a loud bang. He realized there was smoke in the house and escaped unharmed.
Once outside, he saw flames on the side of the house.
Williamson says a damage figure has not yet been worked out, but the house, on Rochester Townline near Tecumseh Rd., was destroyed.
There was a working smoke alarm in the home.
