Services Set For Windsor Teen Found Shot

Services are scheduled for a Windsor teenager found dead last week.

Visitation for 16-year-old Chance "A-Lee" Gauthier will be held Wednesday at Families First Funeral Home on Lauzon Rd. in east Windsor.

According to his obituary, Chance is being remembered for his love of sports and had been involved in some sports organisations in Windsor-Essex.

He had attended Our Lady of Lourdes elementary school, as well as F.J. Brennan and St. Joseph's high schools, according to Families First.

Chance is survived by parents Scott and Kimberly Gauthier, along with two brothers, grandparents and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be from 2pm to 4pm, then 6pm to 9pm. Funeral services are private, and Chance will be cremated.

Chance's body was found in an alley off Church St. and Caroline St. on the morning of February 14 with a gunshot wound. The weapon has not been recovered.

Windsor police say the death is being investigated as a homicide, the city's first of the year. Previously, the death had been deemed suspicious.
