OPP Work To Dispel Misinformation Regarding Missing Dogs

Provincial police are attempting to separate fact from speculation as they continue to investigate missing dogs in the Essex and Harrow area.

The OPP says officers have been working in conjunction with the Windsor Essex Humane Society after the dogs were reported missing. However, the OPP says rumours about the investigation has been showing up on social media since the investigation began on January 25.  As of Tuesday, there has been no evidence to support any theft or wrongdoing, according to police.

As well, a suspicious white van that was reportedly seen on Concession 9 and on Gesto Rd. in Essex has been identified. Police say the van is unrelated to the investigation and was proven to be a commercial service vehicle working in the area.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
