Pedestrian Struck By Minivan In Leamington

A pedestrian has been seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle in Leamington.

The Ontario Provincial Police say on Wednesday just before 6:45pm, an eastbound minivan hit the pedestrian who was walking on Mersea Rd. 6 near County Rd. 77.

The pedestrian was rushed to an area hospital with life threatening injuries. The driver of the minivan was not injured.

Police say an investigation is ongoing.

Mersea Rd. 6 between County Rd. 77 and Mersea Rd. 12 has been closed while OPP Traffic Collision Investigators are at the scene. The road is expected to open around 3am on Thursday.
