Tips Coming In After Video Of Dog Being Thrown Posted

The Windsor-Essex County Humane Society says it has received a number of tips after someone posted a video of a dog being thrown against a door on social media.

The video is very disturbing, but Executive Director Melanie Coulter hopes someone will recognize the location it was shot in. The video is posted on the humane society's website.

"We are always very cautious when we're looking at releasing evidence in an investigation," says Coulter. "We don't want to release it for shock value or anything like that, but in this case, because the location was quite distinctive... this was really the only way hopefully to get someone to come forward who recognizes the dog or the home."

The video, posted on the humane society's website, shows someone throwing a small black and white dog against a door.

Coulters says several people have called the humane society, but investigators have not learned any more than what is already circulating online now.

"What we are looking for, and hoping that someone will recognize is the location where the video was taken," says Coulter. "And, we'd really like to hear from the owner of the dog."

Anyone with information is asked to call the humane society at 519-966-5751. You can also email investigators at investigations@windsorhumane.org. Crime Stoppers can be reached at 519-258-8477.
