Ceremonies to observe Remembrance Day and pay tribute to those who served in the military are being held throughout Windsor and Essex County today.
The City of Windsor ceremony at the cenotaph downtown starts at 11:00 am, it's hosted by the HMCS Hunter.
In Lakeshore, a Remembrance Day parade begins at 10:30 am at the Royal Canadian Legion Brance 399 in Belle River. The parade goes down Notre Dame to Ouellette, a ceremony will follow at 11:00am at the cenotaph. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch in Comber is also holding a ceremony in the Comber Vererans Memorial Gardens starting at 10:45 am.
In Essex, the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 201 will march from the Essex Legion Hall to Essex United Church starting at 9:45 am. A service at the cenotaph will be followed by a church service. The Colchester-Harrow Legion Branch 338 will also host a Remembrance Day parade and service at 1:30 pm with a parade from the legion to the new cenotaph at Harrow Veterans Memorial Park. The service at the cenotaph starts at 1:45 pm.
In Kingsville, the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 188 is hosting a ceremony and parade. The parade starts at Sykes Funeral Home at 10:45am. It continues to the cenotaph at the Kingsville Legion for a ceremony at 11:00am.
In Leamington, a ceremony will be held at the cenotaph at 11:00am.
The Town of LaSalle held its ceremony yesterday. The Town of Tecumseh`s service was last Saturday.
