Spitfires Lose To Petes 5-1

The Windsor Spitfires dropped a 5-1 decision to the Peterborough Petes at the WFCU Centre on Thursday.

The Petes were quick to score after just 38 seconds into the first period, and then added two more goals to make it 3-0 heading into the second.

Peterborough scored again just over eight minutes into the second frame, but Sean Day scored to put Windsor on the board with just over a minute left in the period.

The Petes scored one more unanswered goal late in the final frame to cap off their win.

Windsor goaltender Michael DiPietro made 12 saves out of 17 shots on net.

The Spitfires head to Flint, Michigan on Sunday to take on the Firebirds at 4pm.
