A mom in the Harrow area is sending a warning to local parents after a older man in an SUV approached kids in the neighbourhood multiple times this week.
Carrie Perrone says she first saw the silver SUV with Michigan license plates on Tuesday, when it approached her neighbour’s young girls while they were waiting for the bus stop. She says the girls were clearly frightened and when she approached the vehicle it took off. Perrone says the man asked the girls many inappropriate questions.
The car returned Wednesday morning and stopped at the end of Perrone’s driveway to talk to her daughter.
“I was hiding behind a tree close to my daughter so that I could get pictures of the vehicle, he slowly, slowly lurked up the street and he stopped right at the end of my driveway and went to roll down his window to talk to my daughter but then the school bus arrived,” says Perrone.
Perrone was able to take pictures of the car and contacted OPP. She says the vehicle is a silver Chevy SUV and has the green Michigan State S on the license plate.
“This is a scary situation you wouldn’t think someone would stop at 8:30am in the morning and start targeting young girls. So I’m just telling all the parents around here to keep your eyes out on the street and look after each other,” says Perrone.
The OPP confirmed they are investigating, but have not released any further details at this time.
