The tenth-straight month of net job gains across Canada may be reflected in Windsor's jobless rate last month.
In Windsor, the rate fell to 5.8% last month, down from 6.2% in August, marking the lowest showing since the beginning of the summer.
Across the country, the economy added 10,000 net new jobs in September. An increase of 112,000 full-time positions offset a step loss in part-time jobs, although not enough to change the national unemployment rate. It remained steady at 6.2%.
Factory work and the service industry provided the most significant gains.
The labour participation rate was down very slightly to 65.6% from 65.7% the month before.
The September survey from Statistics Canada also shows a 2.2% increase in hourly wages.
