Students With Out Of Date Records Suspended

Around 660 students in the Windsor area were suspended Thursday because their immunization records aren't up to date.

The students, born between 2008-2011, were required to have all immunization records up to date with the Windsor Essex County Health Unit by Wednesday afternoon or face suspension.

Manager of Healthy Schools Judy Allen says as soon as a student has all of their immunizations or updates their records they will be allowed to return to school.

"Parents can go to their physician and get their immunization records and bring it down to the health unit or their physician can either call us or fax it to us," says Allen.

Allen says there are also nurses available at the health unit who will give immunizations if a student is out of date.

The students can be suspended for up to 20 days if the records remain incomplete.
