A new mural to honour a young boy who was killed in a hit and run collision is almost complete.
The mural is in Bruce Avenue Park in honour of 3-year-old Kevin Eh Say. Eh Say was killed in a hit and run on Wyandotte St. W on July 3.
"We have a Spider-Man that is creating the bridge, which was the hero of the kid, we have a boy with an ice cream and we have a little bit of the architecture of Detroit and Windsor," says mural artist Grace Chaberska.
She says she was working with Art Attack Windsor on creating a mural in downtown Windsor. After the collision they decided to switch focus and paint something for the young boy.
The location of the mural, in Bruce Avenue Park is significant because the boy often played there with his family.
"I am getting good feedback especially from the neighbours here that saw him here quite often playing in the park so that's important here for the community I think," says Chaberska.
Windsor police caught the suspect believed to be involved in the hit and run by sharing a photo of the van with the media. Kenneth Dawson, 56, was arrested and charged with failure to stop at the scene of an collision causing death and criminal negligence causing death.
