The Town of Tecumseh will be installing signs on Pentilly Rd. to remind residents to not park on the sidewalks.
Concerns were raised by residents on the street of pedestrian safety, on-coming traffic and sight lines because of the parked vehicles.
At a special public meeting Tuesday council decided not to restrict parking on the street. They will be installing signs on existing lamp poles to remind people not to park on the walkway.
"Just to provide a kind reminder to the drivers to leave the sidewalks for the proper use of pedestrians," says councillor Bill Altenhof.
Tickets may be issued if cars continue to park on the sidewalk.
