Downtown Windsor Gets Latin Flavour Saturday

The sights and sounds of the Latin culture will fill downtown Windsor on Saturday.

The Downtown Windsor Business Improvement Association (DWBIA) says the city's third annual Fiesta Latina will take place on Maiden Lane West off Ouellette Ave.  The one-day event is expected to showcase a full lineup of Latin music, dance and culture, along with activities for kids.

DWBIA chairman Larry Horwitz says this is the kind of event that draws people to downtown from all over.

"Fiesta Latina presents unforgettable Latin-American experiences and entertainment for people of all ages," says Horwitz. "The festival also features numerous activities for children, cultural kiosks, themed characters and vendors."

The event begins at 2pm with Joel Ang teaching a zumba fitness class at 2:30pm, followed by a salsa dance demonstration at 3:30pm. The rest of the program will feature a ballet troupe, a Latin DJ, local saxophonist Sal, and London's Latin Power Band.

The event is free and runs from 2pm to 10pm. For more information, click here.
