Got A Stray Cat To Spay Or Neuter? Call Humane Society

The Windsor-Essex County Humane Society is offering free spay and neuter surgeries for stray cats during the month of July.

The agency is getting financial help from Petsmart Charities of Canada to provide the operation, along with free ear tip, microchip, and FVRCP vaccine for feline distemper and other common illnesses that affect feral cats.

The humane society says an appointment is required, and each person will be limited to service for three cats.

Anyone who needs help trapping a feral cat can also get a trap.

Since the clinic opened in 2011, the number of stray cats in Windsor-Essex has dropped dramatically, proving the service is effective at reducing overpopulation.

To make an appointment, call the Windsor-Essex County Humane Society at 519-966-5751.
