Wanted Man Arrested During High Risk Takedown

A Port Burwell man has been arrested after police officers conducted a high risk traffic stop in Windsor.

The Ontario Provincial Police say on Tuesday around 5pm, officers spotted the man, who was wanted by police, in a white Dodge pickup truck heading west on Hwy. 401 in Tecumseh. The vehicle entered the City of Windsor, where officers from the OPP and the Windsor Police Service conducted a high risk takedown on Walker Rd. near Grand Marais Rd. E.

Two men were arrested at the scene, but one has since been released unconditionally.

The other occupant in the vehicle, a 26-year-old Port Burwell man, remains in police custody. Police say he will be returned to Elgin County where he will face unknown criminal charges that have yet to be determined.

Walker Rd. was closed for around 20 minutes while police were at the scene.
