Charges After Pedestrian Hit And Left On Roadway

A hit and run on Ouellette Ave. has a 47-year-old Windsor man facing serious charges.

The Windsor Police Service says a 60-year-old man was hit by a pick-up truck, which was turning south onto Ouellette Ave. from Montrose St., last Saturday around 5pm.

The driver of the truck stopped and got out of his vehicle to check on the victim, but then took off without identifying himself or trying to help the 60-year-old.

Investigators say the victim was rushed to hospital with life threatening injuries.

John Vaillancourt, 47, is now charged with failing to stop at the scene of an crash causing bodily harm and criminal negligence causing bodily harm.

The Patrol Support Unit continues to investigate the incident.
