Windsor Crews Battle Apartment Fire

Windsor Fire and Rescue tackled an apartment fire late Sunday night.

Crews were called to a working fire in the 1300 block of Wyandotte St E around 11pm.  Windsor Fire said via Twitter that the fire involved an apartment in the building.  Residents were evacuated from the second floor of the structure, which has retail at street level.

Multiple crews were on the scene.  Windsor Fire said in a tweet shortly before 11:30pm that the fire had burned itself out, and was confined to a single unit in the building.  There was heavy smoke damage on the second floor.  Some light smoke was detected on the ground floor retail space.

There were no immediate reports of injuries or any estimate of damage.
