The international credit rating service Standard & Poor's has reaffirmed its long-term credit and senior unsecured debt rating for the City of Windsor.
The city maintained its AA score thanks to what the service calls the city's "strong financial management, exceptional liquidity position and strong budgetary performance."
It also issued a stable outlook for the city, noting an exception that "in the next two years, Windsor's tax-supported debt burden will continue to decline."
Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens is pleased, commenting "this independent rating reaffirms the city council's prudent fiscal policies are continuing to place the city in a strong financial position."
S&P also recognized Windsor's focus on job creation and ongoing initiatives in sports tourism.
