Run For Windsor To Hit City's Riverfront

A new running event is hoping to raise a $500,000 for Windsor Regional Hospital's proposed Urgent Care Centre on University Ave at Crawford Ave.

CEO David Musyj says that building is going to be key to the overall mega-hospital project, once approval comes to move it to phase two.

"One of the phasing options we put forward [in our proposal to the province] is to start the Urgent Care Centre first -- to get that done and up and running even before we have the new acute care hospital completed," he explains.

You can sign up to either run or walk a 1 km or 5 km route along the riverfront in the first ever Run For Windsor.

It's happening May 6, and is being put together by the City of Windsor, Windsor Regional Hospital and the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama'at of Windsor.
