A new freight tracking management service, based out of the UK, is opening its North American headquarters in Tecumseh.
CX North America Information Services Inc. President and CEO Lyall Cresswell says, aside from the Windsor-Detroit crossing being the busiest on the continent in terms of GDP, it's the workforce that drew his company to the area.
"Especially who have come through the University [of Windsor] and St. Clair [College]," he explains. "I don't think there are many place you can go and set up shop, and start recruiting and get the good calibre of potential people come through the door."
Cresswell says five or six good business development and technology-based jobs have already been created, with room for future growth.
Windsor-native Sharon Coburn, who has been working in the local transportation industry for more than two decades, will be CX North America's president of business development.
Windsor Essex Economic Development Corporation CEO Steve McKenzie says they first contacted the company about moving to Tecumseh last November, and had a lease signed by late December.
