Chimczuk Museum Celebrating One Year

During its first year of operation, the Chimczuk Museum saw over 20,000 visitors come through its doors.

Museum curator Madelyn Della Valle says that's about what they expected when they opened a year ago.

"We've been really well received by the community and visitors alike, had lots of fun events, and we're really happy and looking forward to a second year," says Della Valle.

Throughout the year, about 3,000 children have come through the museum on school field trips.

The Chimczuk Museum is celebrating its one year anniversary on February 18 with free admission and family activities all day long. Four new exhibits will be on display to help mark the occasion. Road to Freedom and the Civil War, The Windsor Spitfires in Jerseys, Student Art for Canada 150, and Fakes and Forgeries – Sunday and Monday, a travelling exhibit from the Royal Ontario Museum.
