The 2017 Chrysler Pacifica, made at the Windsor Assembly Plant, was picked by a panel of automotive experts at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
FCA US LLC minivans won the honour in 1996.
The award is considered one of the most prestigious in the world.
The announcement was made Monday morning at a news conference. This is the 24th year of the awards.
