OPP Replenish Stolen School Trip Fund

Students at Pelee Island Public School won't be missing out on any educational opportunities, thanks to Essex County OPP.

As officers continue to investigate a break-in at the school from November 7, they learned that the suspects took money that had been raised by the students for field trips and school events.

OPP marine operator Constable James Lyman coordinated a fundraising initiative and rallied local officers, the Essex County cOPPs For Charity Committee and the Kingsville and Essex Community Policing Committees, to raise $2,270.

That money was donated to the school on Monday.

Meanwhile, the break-in is still under investigation.

Anyone with information regarding it can contact call investigators at 519-723-2491.  Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) where you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
