Windsor City Council may consider using photo radar at dangerous intersections.
That is, if the Ontario government moves forward with proposed changes to the Municipal Act that would allow their implementation province wide.
Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens says it's definitely a discussion it would have if proposed changes move forward.
"You'd have to make sure that the reason you're putting it up actually addresses a safety concern, and certainly you want it to have the impact that you hope it would have," says Dilkens
He says it's not something residents would see at every corner because it could cost any where from $70,000- $100,000 at each intersection.
"I think it's an appropriate type of discussion for city council to have, recognizing that it's not going to solve every single issue, that it could create other problems, and recognizing there's a big cost that comes with it," says Dilkens.
Proposed changes allowing municipalities to have the discussion would not come into effect until the new year.
